I’m not even sure what this means for the publication of my upcoming book later in the year. Could our books be included in liquidation and sold to a third party? I don’t know. What does this bankruptcy notice mean for F+W authors like me? This is new territory for me, so I’m not sure what will happen in regards to payments due, royalties, rights, etc. Having been counting on receiving the 2nd half of the advance for my book this month, as well as July-December 2018 royalties, this is extremely bad news. I had just wrapped up a new how-to book with them in November and everyone was very optimistic about the title (I suspect my editor and the rest of the team were also in the dark about this).

This is quite a massive shock, as I had thought all was well with my publisher. I received notification F+W Media’s Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the mail yesterday.

I've also taken a participated in a few community life drawing, cartooning, and animation classes. In school, I took as many drawing and painting classes as possible. My drawing and coloring skills are mostly self-taught through observation, dedication, and a lot of practice. I'm also a huge fan of animated Disney movies and wanted to be an animator before I discovered and fell in love with the medium of comics. I discovered manga and anime in my teens, which also influenced my artistic style. Growing up, I enjoyed painting realistic renditions of animals, as well as drawing my favorite cartoon characters.

I've always had a love for art, and have been drawing from the time I was able to hold a crayon. Born November 9th, 1981 (sign: Scorpio), I'm a comic artist born and currently living in Central Florida.
